So I've been away for quite a while, due to viruses... and school. And College.

See, I'm part of a 'school links' programme, where last years get to go to College every Friday. I'm taking Media, and am quite enjoying it.

That is, until Apple came along.

All the computers they have are Apple Macs, so we use iMovie for editing our videos ect. I wasn't really much bothered about this at first, because I found it easy to use, and pretty good for editing sound and adjusting clips.

Next semester comes around, and all of a sudden, our work has f*ck**g GONE because of a goddamn sever meltdown.

Thanks a f*ck**g lot, Apple.

Me and my Media partner, Sarah, are pretty annoyed, but end up re-doing all our work anyway. Oh, and we lost THREE f*ck**g HOURS of our footage for the final project. We were NOT happy kitties.

We end up re-filming, and then it comes to editing and re-making the whole thing.

And guess what?
Apple decided to 'update' iMovie. And when I say 'update', it's in HUGE sarcasm quotes. The whole program has changed, you can't separate the audio from the clips, the footage adjustment has gone and everything is ICON'D
ICONS. EVERYTHING. All the things, the shortcuts, everything, gone, and replaces with f*ck**g icons. It's totally NOT user friendly and is basically for kids who want to throw something together and stick it up on YouTube.

But wait, that's not the worst part yet.

We grit our teeth and persevere and get on with editing. We get so far, then have to save to go home. Click the file button, and...wait, where'd the SAVE option go?
Answer- THERE IS NO SAVE.

I think I was ready to smash it there and then.

I ask my lecturer, Steph about it, and she says that you don't save- you just close the window. At this point, I'm freaking out, but close it anyway. I re-open, just make sure, and am glad to find it still there. I turn off the computer and go home, still a little bit unhappy about the crappiness of this so called 'update'.

Next week, and it turns out that it isn't saved to your user area- it's saved to the goddamn computer. So ANYONE can delete it. And that's what had happened to ours. My reaction?

'SAY WHAT?!?!?!?!?! *gets out chainsaw* ARGHDIEAPPLE. D<!!!!!!!!!!'

Sarah manages to calm me down, and we end up re-editing. Lucky for us we saved the clips elsewhere >_<!

Steph and the other lecturers send complaints to Apple, telling the the overall SHITNESS of their 'UPDATE' and how annoyed I am ^_^ Thinking I'll get justice, or at least recognition for it, I carry on.

Nearing the end of half term, we finally finish up the project.

I come to College today and...

Well, I now officially HATE Apple for this.

The new iMovie you see, saves things in cache form. So, it default saves to the server. The College doesn't know what it is, but something is clogging the server. So they delete all cache saved things from the server. Including our projects.

I totally FREAK OUT.

Trying to get it back, the f*ck damn crap Macs won't let us restore deleted stuff. WE JUST LOST EVERYTHING.

Me: ARGHNODIEIDIEDIEDIE *is restrained by Sarah*

Coulda given us a warning, eh Apple?

But noooooo, your program is too f*ck**g perfect, that we should just know what it does right away.
WRONG.

I want the old iMovie back. NOW.

As you can imagine, Kuri is one very pissed off kitten at the moment. I'm on the brink of homicide. Someone restrain me, please.

I think I'll send a disgruntled message to Apple about this. Perhaps they'll actually listen this time. </endrant>

HOLY f*ck**g poo! THOSE BASTARDS! That is simply terrible, horrid, unexceptional! And then 'updating' it? WTF is that all about?

I mean apple has neat products sometimes but this just sucks! I hope that you do contact them with this. Maybe it will nock some sense into them hehhe

Heh, I swear quite a lot too Icey xD It's not a bad thing :D It means we're not afraid to express ourselves in colourful ways.
